Mongolian beef recipe is one of the easiest and tastiest recipes and a favorite of our family.
Ingredients
Meat ingredients:
1 ½ lbs Flap Steak or Flank Steak
2 Tbs cornstarch
2 tsp baking soda
2 Tbs water
Sauce:
3 Tbs oyster sauce
3 Tbs Hoisin sauce
2 Tbs low sodium soy sauce
1 /2 Tbs cornstarch
1 /2 tsp rice wine vinegar
2 cloves minced garlic (I use my press)
Thumb of ginger
Stir fry items.
Couple swirls of avocado oil
4 cloves garlic minced in press
1 bell pepper (mine was small)
1 green pepper (mine was small)
1 /2 yellow onion (can use red too)
3 green onions (whites used for stir fry and greens for the garnish)
Directions
Step 1
1 Prep your beef. Cut with the grain 1-2" and then slice thin against the grain in thin strips. Mix 2tbs cornstarch, 2tsp baking soda, 2 tsp salt and 2tbs water. Mix well and add to beef strips mixing well. Put in fridge for at least 2 hours.
Step 2
2 Next mix the sauce ingredients in a small bowl or measuring cup and mis well. set aside. Preheat griddle to low, 400 degrees and cut up vegetables into bite size pieces. Use the white of the green onion in the stir fry and the green part for garnish.
Step 3
3 Put some oil down and add veggies. Cook to your liking. Add a little water to speed the cooking of the veggies.Crank the other side of the griddle to high and add beef. Cook to med rare and mix with veggies and turn down heat.Add sauce and mix. Granish with green onion and serve over Jasmine Rice
