Chicken Big Mac

Chicken Big Macs are a limited time item at McDonalds, so we decided to recreate them at home on our Blackstone griddle to see if they're better than McDonalds! We even took a field trip out to McDonalds to give it a try for ourselves!



Ingredients:

Big Mac Sauce:

1 cup mayonnaise

2 tbsp ketchup

1 tsp mustard

1 tsp Hussey's Heifer Dust

1 tsp onion powder

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tbsp pickle relish

Big Mac:

2 chicken breasts

1 3/4 cups Lucy's Tempura mix

1- 1 1/2 cups cold water or lemon soda

Hussey's Heifer Dust

6 sesame hamburger buns

shredded lettuce

pickles




Directions:

 

1. Mix sauce in a small bowl and set aside. Trim the chicken cutting into bun size pieces. The thick part of the chicken breast can be cut lengthwise to make two bun size pieces. Pound down if necessary. Season chicken with Heifer Dust.

 

2. Preheat griddle to low. Add ample amount of oil for shallow frying

 

3. Mix tempura batter with soda or water and mix well. You want the consistency of thin pancake batter.

 

4. Coat chicken with Tempura batter and put on the griddle. Cook for a minute and flip when one side turns golden. Cook the other side for a minute and check internal temp. Pull off the griddle at 165 degrees.

 

5. While cooking take the hamburger buns and remove the bottom bun on 3 buns and cut off the bottom to be used for the middle bun of the sandwich. Put sauce on all three of each sandwich buns.

 

6. Put lettuce, cheese slice and pickle slices to the bottom bun. Put lettuce and pickles to the middle bun.

 

7. Put a piece of chicken on the bottom bun, then put another piece of chicken on middle bun. Put middle bun on top of the bottom bun. Then add the top bun to complete the sandwich. Enjoy
