Pork chops are one of my favorites, but lightly breaded with a gravy all over them makes these out of the world. This smothered pork chop video will show you step-by-step of how to make these for your family or gathering.
Ingredients
4 pork chops
2 cups flour
1 /2 tsp garlic powder
1 /2 tsp onion powder
1 /2 tsp salt
1 /2 tsp Smoke Bomb (optional, can use smoked paprika)
1 onion sliced thinly.
1 cup sliced mushrooms.
Gravy:
Flour (save from breading)
2 cups Unsalted beef or chicken stock
1 /4 cup half and half
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
Step 1
1 Mix flour, onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika and salt in a shallow dish. Dredge pork chops in the flour mix. Bring Blackstone to low heat. While pre heating, slice a half a yellow onion. Slice mushrooms.
Step 2
2 Put a pan on the griddle. Add 2 tbsp butter to the griddle and add mushrooms and onion. While cooking onions and mushrooms add a liberal amount of oil and put pork chops in the oil. Cook pork chops for about 3-4 minutes per side while watching the mushrooms and onions.
Step 3
3 Add a tablespoon of butter to the pan with some of the pork chop grease and titbits of pork chops. Add some of the leftover flour from dredging and make a roux. Add chicken or beef stock while putting the pork chops in an aluminum pan on the griddle. Add the mushrooms and onions to the pan with the pork chops. Add half & half and mix well. If it gets too thick, add chicken stock. Pour gravy over the pork chops and cover pan with foil with a small vent hole and cook for about 5 minutes or until 165 degrees
