Way Better Steak

Updated: Sep 23

Steak cooking have many techniques, but in the video I show you the best way to cook a steak!

Ingredients:

2 ribeye steaks (ours were 1 1/2lbs each)

3 tsp salt

2 tbsp Hussey's Heifer Dust

1 tbsp McCormick's Unami seasoning

Board Sauce:

Heifer Dust

2 tbsp Green Onions (scallions), sliced

1 tbsp parsley chopped

3 tbsp butter

1 tsp garlic paste

Direction:

1. Prep the steaks by adding 1 teaspoon of salt per pound of meat. Add to the steak 24 hours before cooking. When ready to cook, generously apply Heifer Dust to season the steaks. Add the Umami seasoning next.

2. Preheat your smoker to 250 degrees. Add the steaks to the smoker using your favorite smoking pellets, chunks or chips. Cook to 113 degrees. Pull meat and wrap in foil to rest.

3. While resting, preheat griddle to med/high heat or about 550-600 degrees. Add steaks to griddle and let sear for about 30 seconds and flip. Keep flipping every 30 seconds or so until the internal temp is 125-130 degrees.

4. While cooking, make a board sauce by adding some Heifer Dust to your cutting board. Add some slices green onions, parsley, butter and garlic paste.

5. Remove steaks from griddle and put them on top of the board sauce. Add juice from the steak and cover with foil and let them rest. After a minute or so, flip steak so board sauce gets all over both sides. Slice and enjoy
