This burger is not your traditional burger. The ingredients may surprise you, but it works to make this an outstanding burger — ground chuck and wagyu blended with crushed Ritz crackers and applesauce for incredibly juicy patties.
Ingredients
- •1 lb 80/20 ground chuck
- •1 lb wagyu ground beef
- •1 packet Lipton onion soup mix
- •1 sleeve Ritz crackers, crushed
- •2 large eggs
- •1/2 cup applesauce
- •1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- •2 tsp Tabasco (optional)
- •1 tsp Hussey's Heifer Dust
- •8 brioche buns
- •8 slices American cheese
- •Duke's Mayo
- •Sliced tomato
- •Sliced red onion
- •Shredded lettuce
Instructions
- 1Preheat griddle to medium or 400–425°F.
- 2In a large bowl, add the ground beef, wagyu, onion soup mix, crushed Ritz, applesauce, Worcestershire sauce, Heifer Dust, eggs, and Tabasco. Mix well and make 8 burgers (thicker if you prefer).
- 3Put burgers down on the griddle without oil. While cooking, slice tomato and onion. Shred lettuce. Flip burgers when you get a nice crust. Once flipped, put buns down to toast. After lightly toasted, remove and add mayo.
- 4When burgers are almost done, add a cheese slice to each. Add tomato slice to the bottom bun seasoned with Heifer Dust, then add hamburger, followed by shredded lettuce and onion on the top bun. Put the top bun on and enjoy.
Hussey's Egg-Griddle Tips
- ▸The applesauce and Ritz crackers keep these burgers incredibly moist.
- ▸Don't over-mix the meat — fold gently for the best texture.
