Crunchy and flavorful tacos dorados — a winner in the Hussey house! Ground beef seasoned with Fiesta Dust, melted cheddar, and shallow-fried corn tortillas for maximum crunch.
Ingredients
- •1 lb 80/20 ground chuck
- •1 Tbsp water
- •1/4 tsp baking soda
- •1 small onion
- •2–3 Tbsp Hussey's Fiesta Dust
- •Corn tortillas
- •8 oz cheddar cheese
- •6–7 Tbsp oil (peanut recommended)
- •Toppings and fillings of your choice
Instructions
- 1Prep the ground beef by placing it in a bowl with baking soda and water. Mix lightly, trying not to over mix.
- 2Preheat the Blackstone griddle to low heat.
- 3Chop the onion and set aside.
- 4Add a small amount of oil and sauté the onions until soft.
- 5Add the ground beef and mix well until almost done and brown.
- 6Add the Fiesta Dust and mix well, then add the cheddar cheese to melt.
- 7Once the cheese and seasoning are to your liking, remove and place in a bowl.
- 8Add another small amount of oil and warm the tortillas — crucial so they don't break. Remove and place in a towel, covered.
- 9Fill the tortillas with the ground beef mixture.
- 10Add 4–5 Tbsp oil to shallow fry the tacos.
- 11Add tacos to the griddle and fry until crispy. Remove and place on paper towels.
- 12Before serving, lift up one side and fill with your favorite toppings — then get ready for maximum crunch and deliciousness!
Hussey's Egg-Griddle Tips
- ▸Warming the tortillas before filling prevents them from cracking.
- ▸Don't overcrowd the griddle when frying — give each taco space to crisp.
